Save Our Education Initiative (SOEI) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to transforming the educational landscape in Nigeria and across Africa. We believe that true societal change begins with the mind, and that education is the most powerful tool to drive that transformation.

The vision for SOEI was born during the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year of our founder, Okolie Christian Emeka, in Niger State (2005/2006). Driven by a passion to uplift young minds, he organized seminars in primary and secondary schools, inspiring students with positive values and leadership skills. As part of this mission, he donated 500 copies of his book “Preparing for School” to school libraries across the state. What began as a single service-year project soon grew into a lifelong commitment to revive education in Africa.

In 2012, this passion became a formally registered organization powered by volunteers, partners, and a thriving network of changemakers. Since then, SOEI has worked tirelessly to ensure that every child, regardless of background or location, has access to quality education, moral guidance, and opportunities to lead.

Our goal is simple: to ignite a revolution of the mind – raising generations who will read, grow, and lead.

We take our campaigns to streets, markets, rural schools, and underserved communities creating awareness on the value of education and helping parents and children embrace learning.
